Creative Technologist





Job Description:

As the 'creative' web developer, one will be responsible for bringing technical rigor and expertise to the creative process. The Creative Technologist will contribute to cross-functional brainstorms and to help to bring ideas to life. In addition, the CT will also be challenged on a daily basis in finding innovative solutions to creative ideas. (e.g. how can we fit 5762 people into a Mini Countryman?)

The CT will get involved in live projects in this hands-on role; the work in this role will involve a mix of project work, proof-of-concept work and liaising with clients and internal teams to define & design applications and campaigns. Projects will come in various form factors from desktop to mobile and social integration (Facebook, Twitter, 4Square YouTube, maps, music and more) - not to mention, you should expect to get into the detail of current and future public APIs.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Work with clients to educate, inform and inspire
  • Work with account teams to help shape campaigns
  • Work with project managers to scope project deliverables
  • Work with other developers to prove deliverables
  • Work with testers to ensure quality is maintained

Must Haves:

  • Expertise in a dynamic web language (PHP, Ruby, Python)
  • Experience with an appropriate web framework (cakePHP, Zend, RoR, Django, …)
  • Experience of working with Facebook apps & Open Graph
  • Experience with open-source CMS (e.g. Drupal, Joomla, WordPress, Django CMS)
  • Experience with multiple APIs - inc. Twitter, Instagram, Foursquare.
  • Broad range of interests across web development

Would be Bonuses:

  • Experience with mobile development (web and native)
  • Experience with IaaS (e.g. EC2), PaaS (e.g. AppEngine, EngineYard)
  • Experience with search products (Lucene, Solr, ElasticSearch or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of non-relational data stores (NoSQL)
  • Participation in open-source projects

Professional Expectations:

  • Be on time for, and professional in, everything you do, be that meeting a client; delivering to timescales; actively participating, using the right tone; or protecting the client's information/IP or MullenLowe Profero's
  • Be an excellent communicator and presenter in all forms (in-person, email, over the phone)
  • Complete Timesheets and Management Team status documentation in a timely manner
  • Proactively contribute to a positive team atmosphere and company culture, and generally be a role model for the junior members of the team
